I purchased these beautiful wooden accessories for my grand daughter’s play kitchen. She is a spunky 27-month-old whose real kitchen has a tile floor. My concern was that metal pots and pans would make too much noise when dropped, hence wood should be better in that regard.
These pots and pans make a sonorous “thwack” instead of metallic clang. Not enough of a trade off. They are quit heavy for a little tyke and, when filled with liquid (usually from a toilet, which is at “that” height), can make an huge mess.
I would suggest that, due to size and weight, these be targeted at 5+ and that parents of young children think more than once before they tile their kitchen floors (teeth not withstanding). Solid product.

If you have a daughter like mine who loves to play house this is a wonderful little kitchen set. We bought her the set along with the Melissa and doug food cutting set for Christmas. She played house all day and everyday since. I love that it is made of wood, love that it comes with a pot holder and spoons. The paint color is alittle more pink in person than the bright red I thought it would be, but I still really like the color. It really is a cute little kitchen accessory. My daughter loves it and has played with it nonstop. I highly recommend.

Melissa and Doug toys are the greatest. My grandson is 21/2 and my granddaughter is 18 months old, they just love to play with these pots and pans. It comes with a little oven mit. Too cute! My grandson loves to cook and always wanted a spatula from me. I would give him a wooden one that I have. The one in M&D’s set is just like mine in miniture size. It’s great.
